Villa Isa
Sao Miguel do Gostoso / Brasil / 2019
Located in Sao Miguel do Gostoso (RN), just 100 km from Natal (Br), Villa Winda harmoniously blends into the coastal landscape, offering an oasis of tranquility and sophistication.
The structures sit on a large plot of 11×50 meters, amidst two local roads, near the ocean, where the sound of waves and the sea breeze contribute to a serene and relaxing atmosphere.
The main building, spread over two levels and with a total area of approximately 130 sqm, is oriented to the north to shield the two small studio apartments and the charming surrounding garden from the strong local winds. The main entrance, made inviting by a porch, leads to a view of the front glass wall of the living room overlooking the outdoor pergola.
The living area features a designer staircase, with a concrete base supporting the first steps and transforming into a suspended structure. A skylight above the staircase provides zenithal natural lighting. The living area is separated from the kitchen by a concrete block, housing a TV unit and cabinets, ensuring a fluid relationship between spaces and the necessary privacy.
Both spaces benefit from ample natural light thanks to large windows overlooking the outdoor pergola and the surrounding pool.
Upstairs, two bedrooms offer access to a spacious terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding garden. The master bedroom has direct access to a bathroom illuminated by a skylight in the roof. The study overlooks the rear area above the entrance to the house.
A rooftop terrace provides a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking views extending to the ocean. A pool, flanked by a “sunshade” canopy, offers various depths to meet the diverse needs of residents, ranging from relaxation to sports.
Facing the villa are two mirror-image studio apartments, consisting of a service block at the bottom and a double bed arranged on an upper level, ensuring a unique and comfortable stay experience. This block characterizes the studio and separates the relaxation area from the sleeping area, also ensuring privacy.
Projections on the facades and sliding wooden brise-soleils shelter the interior spaces from the intense Brazilian solar radiation and give a unique and ever-evolving character, both in terms of different arrangements and the changing nature of the wood.
The design of the buildings is characterized by a minimal approach with well-defined aesthetic features, always in harmony with the surrounding environment. The main facades of the blocks overlook the internal courtyard, while those facing outward appear more closed, although some openings frame external spaces.
The design approach follows the principles of sustainable construction and bioclimatic architecture, ensuring an environment of absolute comfort and well-being.
